Greystone Homes is proud to present a new fundraising initiative in conjunction with Midland’s Open Door, for which we’ll be building a strong, stable home in our community. A groundbreaking event in October 2018 kicked off the new construction. Proceeds from the sale of this house will go to Midland’s Open Door to fund programs and services to transition homeless single mothers into permanent housing.

Individuals and members of the business community can support the Building for Change fundraiser in a number of ways. Monetary pledges can be made by clicking the button below which will direct you to a form on Midland’s Open Door website. Using that same form, building professionals and contractors can pledge support with labor or materials related to the construction of the home.

This summer, Greystone Homes broke ground on a custom built home, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the home will benefit Midland’s Open Door. This will enable the organization to provide case management and mentoring services to homeless single mothers so they are able to secure permanent housing, maintain financial stability, and build a community of supportive, life-changing relationships.

Midland’s Open Door also operates the only soup kitchen in Midland County, providing more than 40,000 meals yearly. In addition, more than 11,000 nights of shelter are provided annually for homeless men, women and children.

“Midland’s Open Door meets our homeless, hungry and hurting neighbors at their point of need, transitioning them from a position of crisis to a posture of hope. Building for Change will provide much needed resources so that hope is a reality for more homeless single mothers in our community. We are blessed by the generosity and commitment Kelly and his team at Greystone Homes have made to Midland’s Open Door.”

RENEE PETTINGER, Midland's Open Door

“Greystone Homes have had the privilege of serving the Midland area since 2001, and we take pride in every home we build. We also take pride in our community, and serving those in need. The Building for Change fundraising endeavor aligns those two passions and we are proud to partner with Midland’s Open Door to address a need in our community.”
